ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Overview

The New York Jobs CEO Council (Jobs Council) has partnered with select CUNY Community Colleges to develop at work-based learning opportunity to support students in their development for full-time roles. Select Jobs Council member companies will host apprentices as part of this program.

Apprentices who are selected to participate in this program will be given the opportunity to learn on site at these companies while earning credits and getting paid. The apprenticeship program is available in two different career tracks, tech and business.

Available Tracks

Apprenticeships are offered in two career tracks: business and tech for the Spring 2024 semester. Students in the business track will apply their skills in core business functions, while tech apprenticeships are often in roles like data analyst, software engineer, and cybersecurity analyst. More information on which schools and companies are participating can be found in the Eligibility tab.

What to Expect

  • Apprenticeships are one-semester long, taking place in Spring 2024.
  • Time commitment varies among employers, but you will be expected to work at least 20 hours a week.

TESTIMONIALS

"There's school and there's the actual work environment, so the apprenticeship really pushes you into that working environment so you can connect that back to what you are studying."

Juan Paredes, Mastercard Apprentice from LaGuardia

"By expanding our hiring pipeline to include skilled students from CUNY schools, we were able to access a broader and more diverse talent pool that, frankly, has exceeded our expectations."

Alysia Steinmann, Metro New York Office Managing Partner, EY
